My name is Gurli and I begin my fourth semester studying History of Art at Århus University. I am from Copenhagen and spend much time there, but I also like the city of Århus, where I live in a cityhouse in Sjællandsgade with five other people. I am 23 years old and before I started studying art, I practiced different kinds of art and I still do. Last semester my elective course was Contemporary Art and Surrealism.
From this course I expect to learn more about the present artworld. It could be interesting to look at and discuss/judge some of the contemporary art and its authenticity in our time and compare it to other times in the history of art. Through our readings I also hope to get a picture and an understanding of the future in the field of art. Also I don’t want to expect too much and just see what the course will bring.
